it has been a while

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well I knew that I wouldn't be able to keep up with two blog journals. I think what I might do is turn this journal into a story archive for my stories. It will take me a little while to do it, but it seems like the best option. My stories are growing I think I currently have 15 floating around with two more on the way and many more that are begging to be written.

Bush's religious nutters are at it again - Pls sign petition

I am so incensed... I urge people to go to www.hillpac.com and sign the petition. No matter where you stand on the social issues, this is an affront to female personhood in the States.

EDIT: The site crashed, and looks as if it is being redone. The petition link is not available right now.

A Bush administration plan to define several widely used contraception methods as abortion is a "gratuitous, unnecessary insult" to women and faces tough opposition, Sen. Hillary Clinton said on Friday.

The former Democratic presidential candidate joined family planning groups to condemn the proposal that defines abortion to include contraception such as birth control pills and intrauterine devices.

It would cut off federal funds to hospitals and states where medical providers are obligated to offer legal abortion and contraception to women.

"We will not put up with this radical, ideological agenda to turn the clock back on women's rights," the New York senator told a joint news conference with New York Rep. Nita Lowey, also a Democrat, at Bellevue Hospital.

"Women would watch their contraceptive coverage disappear overnight," said Clinton.

The planned rule is aimed at countering recent state laws enacted to ensure that women can get contraception when they want or need it. It also would help protect the rights of medical providers to refuse to offer contraception.

Clinton said she has written a letter with Patty Murray, a Democrat senator from Washington, to Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt asking him to reconsider and reject the release of the proposed rules.

She also urged people to sign a petition on her website, www.hillpac.com, against the proposed changes.

"Our first effort is to get the Bush administration to rescind the regulation, not issue in its current form," Clinton said. "If that doesn't succeed, we're going to be looking for legislative steps that we can take to prevent this regulation from ever going into effect."

A copy of a memo that appears to be an Department of Health and Human Services draft provided to Reuters this week carries a broad definition of abortion as any procedures, including prescription drugs, "that result in the termination of the life of a human being in utero between conception and natural birth, whether before or after implantation."

Conception occurs when egg and sperm unite in the Fallopian tubes. It takes three to four days before the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. Several birth control methods interfere with this, including the birth control pill and IUDs.

"If enacted, these rules will make birth control out of reach for some women. That's a sure way to guarantee more unintended pregnancies and more abortions," said Anne Davis of Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health.

No I'm not dead :)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
My real life has been keeping me very busy lately. I don't even have time to check my email as much as I use to. I am still working on my stories but my muse is on a extended vacation so it is slow going, but I will finish them!

I decided to dye my hair a totally different color. The company that I get my red dye from decided to discontinue the color, so I have been trying to find a new color to use. While I am looking I decided to dye my hair purple in the mean time. It looks more black then anything else but in the sun you can really see the purple. The only problem is the dye isn't that good and now my shoulders and neck are tinted purple. It was a fun experiment but I don't think I will dye it purple again.

Yesterday we had a fun filled day and a long and frustrating night. We took Xander to the zoo for the first time. He had a ball, he loved seeing all the animals. When we left it was starting to get really hot outside. On the way home Xander slept most of the way (about an hour), we got home and he curled up on the couch and just relaxed. Everything thing was fine and about 9:30ish we put him down to bed. He fell asleep right away. Then about 1:30am he wakes up screaming. Sometimes this happens and he usually falls back to sleep within a minute, not last night! After about five minutes Dave got up and brought him into our room to sleep. He was quite for a little bit but then he got restless again. We decided to put him back in his own room where it was cooler and he was fine for about another hour before he started to cry again. My husband at this point figured it was too warm in his room so we turned back on the air in the living room, we don't have central air, and all of us camped out in the living room. Everything was going fine until Xander decided to get up and walk to his bedroom and fall flat on his face. Dave calmed him down and finally got him to fall back to sleep in his own bed. Now at this point it is almost 4am, we finally all fell asleep. So right now I am working on about 4 hours of sleep. I am doing surprisingly good. Hopefully he sleeps fine tonight.

This whole week has been really busy, Dave has been off all week (he took a vacation) so we have been running around all over the place, and getting stuff done around the house, which is another reason why I haven't been online or updated my stories.

That is all for now, hopefully I will have more time to catch up with everyone real soon.

Harry Potter burn out!!!!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
OK I think I know why I haven't been able to write anything in a while. I think I am experience Harry Potter burn out!! Lately I don't want to read or watch anything to do with harry Potter, I'm hoping it is just temporary. I figured it out when I got a few email telling me that some of my favorite stories have been updates and I've had no interest in reading them.

Part of me think it is because it is finally warm here in Michigan and I am trying to reorganize my house. Also my son is more active and he is constantly pulling me in several directions at once.

At first I thought that I was having writers block but I ended up writing a short drabble that was not HP related and it came out pretty good, considering I haven't written anything since February, I will post it soon, I hand wrote it so I need to type it in the computer.

I'm hoping that I will get over this funk and am able to finish Table etiquette and Sacred Springs (which is being revamped). After those two are finished I think that I am going to stick with one shots for now on. I think Table Etiquette is only going to be five chapters and I am going to try to finish that first. Sacred Springs is going to be a little longer then that. I have some really good ideas, thanks to Valady, so I want that story to have my full attention. Everyone who is waiting for update (thank you for sticking with me) I hopefully will have a chapter of something up soon!

Real Life update

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I have severe writers block at the moment I started Chapter three of Table Etiquette and am in the middle of a sexy shower scene with Hermione and Severus but my muse left me for some one who has the time to write. My son has stopped taking naps all together so the only time I have to sit down at the computer is at night. By the time that happens I am so worn out from the day that it is hard for me to concentrate on the story. I will not give up on any of my stories they will be completed, it just might take me a little while.

I have been keeping busy, I al almost done painting Xander's room I have one wall left and then it is finished. we are about to change his crib to a bed and my chocolate business is starting to get off the ground. So if you don't see me online for a while it is probably because I just don't have anytime to sit down, but I do try to get on and read everyones posts even if I don't respond I am still here :)

Real life and Xander's room

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I know that I have been neglecting this journal, hopefully I will try to keep up with it more. As soon as I figure out how to cross post it will be really easy :)

Well My muse has left me and refuses to come back until I have more jell-o shot and chocolate, which I made last night so maybe I will get lucky today. In the mean time my artist muse has not left me, so far this is what I have done so far in Xander's room. His room was completely white when I started.

Hansel and Gretel

Jack and the beanstalk

The Giant

Wall

Obviously I have a long way to go. There is still some detail work that needs to be done and more fairy tales to paint.

I started on "The three little pigs" scene but I haven't had time to work on it for a week. Hopefully I will have more pictures up soon.

Also my husband just bought me a new laptop so I have been busy transferring all my info to the new laptop.

My house is haunted

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Ok so today I had a little heart attack. We were sitting on the couch playing with Xander when my husband heard a small pop sound. He didn't think anything of it until he got up to change for work and noticed that our backdoor was open. This door was locked from the inside, there is no way it could just pop open. At first we thought that the lock was broken so we locked it and Dave went outside and tried to open the door fron the outside. It wouldn't budge! So how did the door open, I have no idea! The door is located on the side of the house facing the street. It is possible that someone tried to get in but how did the door get unlocked.

This isn't the first strange thing that has happened since we moved in. I have been passing it off as mind tricks or outside noises but I think there might be something more to it. For example I was finishing up the bathroom the other night. My husband was getting ready to go to bed I head footsteps in the bedroom, which is right next to the bathroom, then I started to hear typing on the computer. Well I figured it was my husband doing something quickly before he heads to bed. As I was finishing up I heard a very loud "meow". I thought I stepped on my cat, I looked around and she was not in the bathroom. I finished up and left. I walk to the living room (place is tiny) and my husband is laying on the couch with the cat in his lap. I look at his and ask what he was doing on the computer. He looked confused and told me he wasn't on the computer, he has been in the living room the entire time along with the cat!! Ok so now I am a little freaked out. I always seen shadows but I thought it was the dark hallway with no light, now I am wondering.

I googled the park where I live and I found out that there is reported signs of ghosts on the grounds. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same thing?

This is not the first time I've had a ghost. In the place where I use to live, we kept on hearing faint music every now and then. We always heard footsteps when we were in the basement. And when my son was born we could hear faint talking through the baby monitor (that could be a lot of thing), but my son would start laughing uncontrollably for no reason while he was in his crib. Very spooky!!

Another time about 3 years ago. We were in the basement in our first house, huge problems with that house, anyway we were hanging up some pictures on the wall. We had to go out and get special screws for the walls. My husband put down the screws on the tool box while he searched for the drill. a minute later he went to pick up the box of screws and they were not on top of the tool box anymore. We looked everywhere. Finally I was fed up and yelled at the top of my lungs "Whoever has them drop them right now." Instantly they fell into my husbands hands. I was laughing so hard that I couldn't see straight. My husband was just staring wide eyed at the box of screws.

I have ghost stories dating back as long as I can remember. I never lived in a place without experiencing something unexplainable. Maybe I should turn off the Alfred Hitchcock movie marathon.

Damn wasp

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Ok so I was get out of the car minding my own business when a wasp decided to land on the car door just as I was shutting it. The bastard stung me! What makes it worse is it was on my right hand. So now my right thumb and palm are stinging in pain and is swelled. I can't really use my right now, I'm typing with my left which is why it is taking me forever and spell check is going ot be worse. I can't write and I can barely type. I'm not happy! And it's not even 60 degrees right now the wasps shouldn't be out anyway! This is going to make finishing my story today very hard.
